At i2Systems we are excited to be advancing a product that will save untold amounts of energy and money for a cleaner, greener, and brighter, future.

To comply with this directive, i2systems has initiated comprehensive review of existing products as well as new mandates for design engineering on future products. Existing products are currently under review to determine if redesign is necessary to comply with the directive. If it is concluded that there will be engineering changes made to a product, additional stress testing, burn-in, analysis and monitoring will be performed in conjunction with existing test procedures.
We feel that the effort and resources that i2systems has committed to our RoHS compliant practices will result in uninterrupted supply and consistent top-level quality across our product portfolio and new product introductions.
What is the RoHS Directive?
More and more, manufacturers of electrical and electronics equipment are deviating from the use of lead and other hazardous substances in their products and are using non-toxic substitutes. In late 2002 the European Parliament and Council of Ministers adopted two directives to try and decrease the presence of hazardous substances in the waste stream. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive sought to decrease the level of WEEE through comprehensive waste management programs. The WEEE's twin directive on the Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) calls for the severe restriction on the use of lead in most electronic equipment beginning July 1, 2006.
Substances to be banned or severely restricted include:
Expectations
In those countries/regions where compliance with the RoHS Directive is mandated, customers can expect i2systems products purchased direct from i2systems on or after July 1, 2006 to be fully compliant with the Directive.
RoHS compliant products will be clearly identified to distinguish themselves from their noncompliant predecessors.
i2systems has dedicated a significant amount of resources to process engineering and product level testing, and our customers can expect the same consistent quality and performance from our RoHS compliant products.
